Kita: Part I Princess of Orith is a middle grade graphic novel that follow the adventure of Tommy and Kita!They adventure in the mythical world of Orith, which coincides with the real life struggles Tommy faces as he navigates his childhood in a broken home.
Tommy is an imaginative boy with few friends, until meeting Kita, a semi-stray dog. In their imagination Kita is the lost heir to the throne of the kingdom of Orith. Tommy seeks to restore her to the throne, but the Wolf King stands in their way! The Wolf King is Tommy's manifestation of his older cousin, Ricky. As Tommy and Kita quest to restore the throne of Orith, they are eventually confronted with the harsh reality of the world they live in, threatening not only the kingdom of Orith but Orith's very existence.
The story explores how we coupe with hardship and the loss of our childlike imagination. Tommy and Kita's adventures are directly influenced by the events of their real lives. Tommy and Kita are joined on their quest by friends in Orith such as Thaddius the frog, and Mr. Bear.
